Creating the best place to live and work

Elmhurst School for Dance Fundraising Event

Elmhurst Dancers

March 2008

Elmhurst has been planning a major fundraising event for 2008 to enable the school to establish a permanent endowment to support students during their training. The date, April 22nd and venue, the Town Hall, were agreed and booked during the autumn term with the support of the school’s patron. The school and the City of Birmingham have now joined together for the official grand opening of the Town Hall which will feature the school's patron and her husband.

This has meant that the order of the day has been altered. It will now start with Elmhurst School for Dance entertaining everyone at 10.30, followed by the formal opening ceremony of the Town Hall, after which we will retire to The Council House for a Champagne Reception followed by a delicious three-course lunch with wines and coffee.

The ticket price is £120 per person, this includes all drinks, and tables of ten are also available. If you would like to attend please contact Sarah Fortes Mayer, Chairman of Elmhurst Fundraising Group at s.fortesmayer@btinternet.com or on 07970 980160. Please provide your full name with title, home address and any dietary/disability requirements so that all the relevant documentation can be sent to you.

There will be an opportunity for your guests to buy Raffle Tickets at the lunch, the draw will take place after coffee. One of the marvellous prizes donated by Allied Irish Bank is ‘20 tickets for Ascot with £500 spending money’.

A souvenir programme of the event is free to everyone attending and there is an opportunity to advertise in the programme - full colour printing is available at £1000 for an A4 advertisement. If you are interested please let Sarah know.

Elmhurst is now very well settled in Birmingham, in recent years senior Elmhurst Students have joined Birmingham Royal Ballet on their tour of Japan and USA. In order for the school to continue to attract and retain world class students to Elmhurst and Birmingham it does need an endowment.

The closing date for application for tickets is 14th March 2008. Official Invitations, tickets and seating for the lunch will be issued two weeks prior to the event.
