February 2007
Calthorpe Estates’ vision for Edgbaston to become a new retail destination is taking shape with the £100 million Edgbaston Mill scheme making significant progress. The nine-acre development blends 344 contemporary apartments with a range of quality retail, restaurant and leisure facilities, Grade A office space and a luxury 120-bed hotel - all opposite the world-renowned Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
Full planning consent is anticipated in March, with phase one of the commercial element expected to start on site this Autumn. Final negotiations for this first phase are being progressed with a number of potential occupiers who are keen to locate to the sought-after site situated in a prime location one mile from the city’s central core.
Such is the demand for the scheme that almost a third of the Redrow apartments have already been sold, with residents expected to move in from this Autumn. For more information on this exciting scheme please visit www.edgbastonmill.com.
Plans are also being developed for Edgbaston Galleries at Five Ways island, one of Birmingham’s key gateways into the city centre.
