USP

February 2007

Plans for the £90 million University Science Park, Pebble Mill are moving forward with detailed master-planning of the site taking place behind the scenes. Calthorpe Estates has been working closely with Advantage West Midlands, the University of Birmingham, the Central Technology Belt and Birmingham City Council to create a world-class centre offering the best research and development facilities for the life science industries.

It is anticipated that construction will commence in Spring 2008, with a view to the first phase of buildings being ready in Summer 2009.

The 393,000 sq ft scheme, located on the famous former BBC site, is one of the most significant investments in the West Midlands’ rapidly expanding knowledge economy. University Science Park, Pebble Mill is located in an outstanding catchment area of unrivalled scientific experience and expertise and, as such, offers a perfect location for research and development companies. As a true centre of excellence the science park will generate new investment opportunities for the city and will act as testament to Birmingham’s growing reputation as an international destination.
