Calthorpe Estates boost work of Birmingham Trees for Life
June 2008
Award-winning property developer and investor Calthorpe Estates has reinforced its commitment to the environment by becoming a silver sponsor of Birmingham Trees for Life.
The Birmingham Trees for Life project is devoted to promoting awareness and understanding throughout the City of the value and importance of trees. The scheme is designed to raise money to enable more trees to be planted and to encourage the involvement of everyone, especially young people, in tree planting. Silver sponsor funding will contribute toward a key initiative to increase the community's knowledge of trees with a proposed trees guide.
With nearly 300 years experience of sympathetically managing its leafy 610 hectare Edgbaston Estate, Calthorpe Estates can already boast an impressive environmental track record.
The company is committed to providing pleasant surroundings, helping to create a quality environment and sense of pride in the community. This is evidenced with Streetscape, an ongoing tree replacement and monitoring programme whereby trees are tagged and regularly checked to make sure they are healthy.
With over one million trees on the Estate, the Streetscape investment programme perfectly complements the work of Birmingham Trees for Life and made the sponsorship an obvious choice. The partnership will help to preserve and enhance the tranquil and leafy ambiance of the Estate, one of England's largest urban conservation areas.
