Five Ways Security
The Five Ways CCTV scheme became operational in December 1999. 13 cameras across the Five Ways business area are controlled and monitored by CCTV operators working from the control room in Frederick Road, Edgbaston. The operators record events they observe on camera and are linked to the police at Rose Road Operations Centre, Harborne. The police regularly visit the control room and obtain information/tapes concerning any incidents that may take place.
It is important to note that this CCTV system is not intended to focus on individual premises. The purpose of the scheme is to monitor the public throughways that the general public use everyday from the Five Ways area. This offers greater protection to the many employees who work around Five Ways and its arterial roads.
