You can play, or indeed learn to play, a range of sports including golf at the stunning Edgbaston Golf Club, tennis at Edgbaston Priory Club or Edgbaston Archery & Lawn Tennis Club. Alternatively you could participate in cricket at Edgbaston Stadiums nets, or indulge in a spot of croquet at Edgbaston Croquet Club or learn to play bowls at Edgbaston Bowling Club.
Arts and culture
At the Barber Institute of Fine Arts you can view a range of masterpieces or visit the mac (Midlands Arts Centre) and enjoy one of their many art exhibitions – while you are there you could sign up for one of their workshops, see a film or drama performance, or grab a bite to eat.
Alternatively why not pop down to the University of Birmingham and visit the Lapworth Museum of Geology or hear a concert in the Bramall Music Building.
For something a bit more leisurely, you can visit the superb Birmingham Botanical Gardens, the historic Winterbourne House and Gardens – both of which often have a number of workshops on offer. If that does not take your fancy you can visit the stunning 80 acre parkland within Cannon Hill Park or visit the educational Birmingham Wildlife Nature Centre.
