The Garden House Refurbishment Builds On Old World Charm

Chef and Brewer’s Hagley Road pub and restaurant, The Garden House, has reopened following an extensive refurbishment to its characterful ‘old English pub’-style interior; and the investment is already proving popular with customers old and new.

The upgraded interior at The Garden House features new flooring and furnishings which combine contemporary comfort with old world charm.  Creating a welcoming, cosy environment while also giving the restaurant a lighter, brighter feel, the works to transform the historic building included the sympathetic restoration of some of the building’s original features, such as its exposed beams which date back to the 19th Century.

General Manager, Andy Matthews, said: “We are all very proud of the quality of this latest Chef and Brewer renovation, and couldn’t wait to show off the new look Garden House.  The immediate response from members of the public has been incredible; and it has been great to welcome returning and new guests to the restaurant and to provide them with a quality meal in a sumptuously inviting setting.”

The Garden House is renowned for serving Sunday lunches, including its succulent Roast Topside of Beef, Roast Turkey Breast and Roast British Pork Loin. In addition, the restaurant offers its famous Trio of Roasts, a combination of the three aforementioned dishes served with all the trimmings.

Jayne Herritty, Sales and Marketing Director for Calthorpe Estates, added: “The Garden House has long been a familiar landmark on Hagley Road, and its latest transformation has strengthened its appeal as a destination for discerning pub-goers and those looking to relax in the comfort of a quality, family restaurant.  The investment in the refurbishment has built on the character and charm of The Garden House and we wish the team every success as it enters an exciting new era.”

The Garden House at 160 Hagley Road is open Monday to Saturday from Midday to 11pm, and Sunday from Midday to 10.30pm.
