Join In Martineau Gardens 20 Year Celebration
This year, the longest running Community Gardens in Birmingham, Martineau Gardens, is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
It recently held a Spring Event to celebrate the community garden that has been based on Calthorpe Estate for 20 years following its opening in 1997. The garden was made possible thanks to supporters and members of the Martineau family.
The Spring Event included a gardening workshop, live music, including performances from Black Adder Morris, Drum Voice and Moseley Village Band, children’s wildlife and craft activities and the Honey Stall with its demonstration beehive.
It proved a great success with the chance to stock up on Martineau Gardens’ spring herbaceous plants, compost and freshly-cut vegetables and enjoy delicious home-made cakes, salads, sandwiches and refreshments.
