Charitable Missions
Local chartered accountants JW Hinks have put charity to the forefront with Let’s Feed Brum. Their passion about the local community and willingness to give back is admirable. They have been partnering with a new charity every year, to make a real difference and help to support those who need it most. However, this year, have decided to stick with Let’s Feed Brum, for a second year, as they were so
impressed with the incredible work they do, and the impact they have made on the local community, that they simply couldn’t bear to miss out on another chance to support them.
Who are Let’s Feed Brum
Founded in 2016, Let’s Feed Brum is on a mission to end homelessness one meal at a time. This incredible charity aims to provide warm and nutritious meals to those who need it most – the homeless people of Birmingham. Each night, a team of dedicated volunteers head out onto the streets armed with hot food and a heart full of kindness.
But Let’s Feed Brum is more than just a charity that provides food and other essential supplies. Let’s Feed Brum is all about providing a sense of community, belonging and support to those who need it most. By providing nourishment and support Let’s Feed Brum is making a real difference to countless lives.
JW Hinks offered support to Let’s Feed Brum through 2022 and into 2023 by holding multiple charity events to raise funds for them – cake bakes, summer BBQs, craft markets, Halloween celebrations, football tournaments, and more. And they’ve sent volunteers every month to St Philips Cathedral to join in handing out supplies.
Can you help make a difference?
Alongside future events, JW Hinks is organising a raffle – the proceeds of which will go directly to Let’s Feed Brum to help them continue making a difference. However, they want to make this a really special event that gathers lots of interest and support. So we’re appealing to any businesses that want to be a part of something great to see if they are willing to contribute prizes.
You can choose to donate any type of prize you like: a voucher, a product, an experience – even cash, it if is easier. And whatever you do provide is guaranteed to help the homeless on Birmingham’s city streets lead more comfortable lives.
If you would like to know more or donate a prize to the upcoming raffle, just contact Kirsty Jackson at kirsty.jackson@jwhinks.co.uk or call 0121 456 0190. All donations help, no matter how big or small, so please get involved today to help Let’s Feed Brum.

On 13th May, at the end of Dying Matter Awareness week, local bereavement charity Edward’s Trust encouraged 40 dedicated individuals to gather at Velocity 2, in Snowdonia, and take on the fastest zip wire in the world! The 40 supporters took to the skies to brave the zip wire, to raise much needed funds for the charity.
Edward’s Trust has long been recognised as a lifeline for bereaved families, offering essential support during their most challenging times. However, their vital work can only continue with the generous support of individuals like those who took part in the charity zip wire event.
With participants of all ages from aged 10 years to 74 years, 74 year old Richard says, “I’ve been raising funds for this wonderful charity ever since my daughter Natalie died in 2000. The work the Trust does was invaluable for my family and I’m proud to play a small part in helping bereaved families during their darkest times. The Zip Wire is another exciting event that brings all ages together.”
