A Well Connected Location

Less than a mile from Birmingham city centre, Edgbaston has excellent transport links through rail, road and air. Located outside the Clean Air Zone, Edgbaston benefits from the Metro tram extension, with the Edgbaston Village stop on Hagley Road.  This connects with the bus network and complements the cycle and electric scooter revolution taking place across the city.

Calthorpe Estates has also agreed various locations with ‘Beryl’ for bikes and scooters to be located around the estate, offering further forms of transport in convenient locations.

Rail Transport

Birmingham is a fantastically well-connected city, well served by three major railway stations – Birmingham New Street, Birmingham Snow Hill and Birmingham Moor Street.

Edgbaston is served by Five Ways station, conveniently situated close to the heart of Edgbaston Village while University station is located in Edgbaston next to the University of Birmingham.

Metro

The extension to the Midlands Metro opened in 2022 and provides much improved connectivity via a modern, high quality and reliable service. The Metro now runs from Wolverhampton through central Birmingham and terminates in Edgbaston.

The Edgbaston terminus, named ‘Edgbaston Village’ stops next to 54 Hagley Road.

Roads

Edgbaston is easily accessible by car and sits between the A456 and A38, with Birmingham additionally at the centre of the national motorway network. It is 4.7 miles from the M6, 4.6 miles from the M5, with excellent links to the M42, M1, M40 and M54 motorways.
