Award-winning restaurants

Our vision to create a fine dining quarter started over 15 years ago with the arrival of Andreas Antona who opened Simpsons and established the first award-winning Michelin starred restaurant in Birmingham.

Simpsons Michelin-Star Restaurant

The presence of Simpsons in Edgbaston has given the area a well-deserved reputation for fine dining.

Chef patron Andreas Antona and chef director Luke Tipping, brought their venture from Kenilworth to a Grade II-listed building on Highfield Road in 2004, and within a year had been awarded a Michelin star, which they have very proudly retained to this day. The award-winning restaurant is home to a stunning dining area with bi-fold windows looking out onto a beautiful landscaped garden, eye-catching geometric feature windows which sit under a curved roof, decorated with handmade Italian glass mosaic lights, Scandi style furniture and finishes.

A selection of places to eat

Whether you’re looking for the perfect restaurant, café or bar, you’ve come to the right place. Calthorpe Estates has some of the best dining experiences in the region and a range of places you can eat or drink alfresco style.
