The changing face of Edgbaston Village
This Spring at 16-22 Harborne Road – opposite Morrisons – we will start work to convert the period properties to four retail units with contemporary interiors. We will also be creating one and two-bedroom premium apartments for private rental above.
Just around the corner at 10-15 Greenfield Crescent, Calthorpe Estates will be creating six new ground floor retail units, with Grade A offices and premier student apartments above.
This will be followed early next year by Brunning & Price, who have selected Edgbaston Village as the location for their first Birmingham venture on the site of the former Birmingham Medical Institute (BMI) Conference Centre. Located at 36 Harborne Road, ‘The Physician’ will be turned into a stylish family wine bar and restaurant.
Elsewhere, on Islington Row we have created smart and attractive new frontages for the 15 retail units, in keeping with the distinctive charm of Edgbaston Village, to create a premier parade of shops – the transformation has attracted a variety of new occupiers.

Edgbaston Village boasts a range of delights range from Michelin started Simpsons restaurant, which has recently undergone a complete refurbishment through to award-winning The Edgbaston, an exclusive cocktail bar and boutique hotel, The High Field gastro pub, through to El Borracho de Oro Spanish tapas restaurant and bar, The Blue Piano South Asian restaurant, in addition to Edgbaston Deli.
