Q. I wish to make improvements to my property, do I need permission from Calthorpe Estates.

A. Yes, regardless if your property is leasehold or freehold, if you live on the Calthorpe Estate under our Scheme of Management you need to adhere to certain criteria. To find out more – click here to see our Residents’ Handbook, which incorporates the Scheme of Management

Q. I have applied for / got planning permission from Birmingham City Council, do I need permission from Calthorpe Estates to extend or alter my property.

A. Yes, regardless if your property is leasehold or freehold, if you live on the Calthorpe Estate under our Scheme of Management you need to adhere to certain criteria and obtain permission from Calthorpe Estates in addition to planning permission from Birmingham City Council. Q. I wish to trim a tree within my property demise, do I need permission from Calthorpe Estates.

A. Yes, if you live on the Calthorpe Estate under our Scheme of Management you need to adhere to certain criteria. Q. I have a leasehold property and would like to buy the freehold/ extend the lease.

Q. Who is responsible for the refuse collection as I’ve been missed? 

A. Birmingham City Council are responsible, please contact them via their website here

Q. Who is responsible for cutting the grass/collecting the leaves?

A. Depending on which address you are referring to will depend on responsibility.  Please contact Mainstay to check on 01905 361 001.

Q. My neighbours are having a bonfire in their garden, is this allowed under the Scheme of Management?

A. There are no defined rules against having a bonfire under the SoM and it is not against the Law.  The EHD under the Control of Pollution Act and/or the ASBO Act will have powers that you could enforce.  To find out more contact Birmingham City Council here
