New Garden Square
An exciting landmark regeneration project
Creating a mixed-use destination with new offices, apartments, shops, restaurants and bars – set around a stunning garden square.

An exciting landmark regeneration project
New Garden Square is an ambitious regeneration project for an outdated landmark commercial estate in Edgbaston, located less than a mile from Birmingham city centre.
The proposal is to deliver a mixed-use and vibrant destination with commercial space, apartments, shops, restaurants and bars – set around a new stunning garden square.
Birmingham City Council’s planning committee approved the proposals for the £330 million regeneration development, which will see the area completely regenerated to create a thriving new mixed-use destination. On 14th March 2019, Birmingham City Council gave consent following a Reserved Matters application for a 165,000 sq ft eight-storey building, forming the first phase of office development which, once completed, will provide approximately 500,000 sq ft of Grade A office space.
In order to make way for the development and help create the new public realm garden square, the mid 1970’s-built Edgbaston House was demolished and works were completed late 2018. To see the timelapse images of the building being taken – click here and press the play button to view.
A place where people can live, work and play
Live
With Birmingham’s population continuing to grow, resulting in a requirement to deliver around 90,000 new homes, working with Moda Living it will deliver up to 392 new apartments in an attractive environment in a range of sizes.
Work
New Garden Square will extend the city core to create a new business destination, attracting significant inward investment and generating jobs. This is in line with Birmingham’s Big City Plan.
We also plan to deliver Grade A office space which is fit for purpose for modern and future business needs, fronting onto the stunning garden square, with the potential for a 100 bed hotel and restaurants, bars and retail uses at ground floor level.
Play
At the heart of our vision is the proposed mix of uses – where business and leisure meet. Set around an attractive garden square, and with café, restaurant and retail uses, this will create a exciting leisure and lifestyle destination in its own right.
