Edgbaston Village, within the heart of the Calthorpe Estate, has announced its plans to get the festive season started early.

With Christmas events officially back on the calendar this year, the annual Edgbaston Village Christmas Lights Switch on event is set to take place on Friday 12 November, from 3:30pm-6:30pm, with the lights being switched on at 5.30pm.

Hosted on the new look Greenfield Crescent, along with the increasingly popular Artisan Market, Santa, Mrs Claus and the real-life reindeer will be on hand to get everyone into the Christmas spirit. The event will also feature a whole host of entertainment including a recital of the Nutcracker by Elmhurst Ballet School, Frozen-inspired musical performance, and local school choirs carol singing.

Digbeth Dining Club will also be on hand, serving gourmet street food, with traders including Disco Fries, Only Jerkin and Flying Cow, amongst others.

For those seeking a unique gift, that they can look at and purchase immediately, the Village’s monthly Artisan Market with be the largest yet with 54 stalls of homemade arts, crafts and gifts on offer, as well as delicious drinks and treats to enjoy.
