Birmingham-based bereavement charity Edward’s Trust has got a new home at Calthorpe Estates’ thriving Edgbaston Village.

The charity is moving to 37 Calthorpe Road after the lease expired at its former building in Vicarage Road, just a short drive away.

The new property will provide more counselling rooms and improved parking provision for clients and staff.

Birmingham-based property consultancy KWB, which has supported Edward’s Trust for several years, sourced the property and agreed terms. It is also managing the fit-out process, including the design, appointment of a contractor and securing listed building consent.

Clare Martin, CEO at Edward’s Trust, said: “We are so excited to embark on this new era for Edward’s Trust and are grateful to KWB for their generous support. A larger property with more parking and room to offer group work allows us to provide qualified counselling and holistic support to even more bereaved children, young people, and parents in the West
Midlands. We are looking forward to being a part of the wonderful Calthorpe community and thank everyone for the warm welcome we have already received.” Tom Foley, Asset Manager at Calthorpe Estates, added: “To secure a local renowned charity such as Edward’s Trust on the estate is testament to the hard work of the team involved.

“It has been a pleasure to learn more about Edward’s Trust’s exciting plans for the building and the valuable work they undertake in the local community. Breathing life back into a listed vacant property ensures a positive outcome for both parties and we hope the charity will make 37 Calthorpe Road their long-term home for many years to come.

“No doubt the brilliant business network on the estate will work with Edward’s Trust to support them and raise funds for the vital services they offer.”

Martin Cook, director at KWB, added: “After an extensive search around Birmingham, 37 Calthorpe Road proved to be an excellent fit for Edward’s Trust. It’s an attractive two story building close to transport links within the regenerated Edgbaston Village area.

“My colleague Adrian Southall, of KWB Workplace, is overseeing the fit out and we can’t wait to see the charity thrive in their new home. They do incredible work, and it has been an honor to give our time to help such a worthy cause.”
